The Chevy Silverado Hybrid was developed to attract the attention of the working man and his truck. The Chevrolet Silverado is the first full size hybrid truck to be introduced to the public. The 2005 gasoline-electric model features a Vortec V-8 engine producing 295 horsepower, and 335 lb-ft of torque.

Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid comes in one well-equipped trim level. The Malibu Hybrid features a four-cylinder gas engine that works in conjunction with a tiny electric motor. The gas mill is a 2.4-liter unit rated for 164 horsepower and 159 pound-feet of torque; the electric motor adds a maximum of 5 hp for a total of 169 hp.


The Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid is the first vehicle outfitted with an advanced two-mode hybrid powertrain developed through unprecedented cooperation by BMW, DaimlerChrysler and General Motors. The basic building block of the Tahoe Hybrid is a version of GM's 6.0-liter Vortec V8.


Chevrolet Equinox Hybrid was scheduled to be available for the 2006 model year. There is very little information available other than it will probably have a similar hybrid system as that of the Tahoe hybrid, which should experience a 30% boost in fuel economy.
